Looking out my window is the abandoned clock tower standing ominous in the evening as a sliver of the last light breaks through the storm clouds, and pours down over the hillside lighting it up in fiery orange. Is it a light that sparks the soul and sets into motion a new beginning. Grasp that in your hands and never let it go. This is an old watercolor I did long ago in 2003. You can buy this image on everything from travel mugs to comforters! Yeah really… take a look if you want an artsy piece of Duluth history.
The Historic Old Central High School of Duluth, Minnesota, United States, is a local landmark dating to 1892. One of Minnesota’s leading examples of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture, it occupies an entire city block and sports a 210-foot (64 m) clock tower. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
